The 2014 GEOS symposium took place at the Ca’ del Monte Observatory from 8 to 11 May 2014. The sessions began on Friday at 10:00 and ended on Sunday at noon, The group stayed at the nearby Agriturismo Ca’ del Monte, which was almost fully booked by the participants.
As usual the venue gathered GEOS members from several countries.
The scientific programme covered a wide range of topics: OO Aql, new variable stars in Perseus, Maia stars, RR Lyrae studies, period changes in RRab stars, and an observing campaign on V729 Cyg. Saturday sessions included spectroscopy with amateur equipment, a realtime demonstration on choosing comparison stars, and updates on the RR Lyrae website.
The meeting concluded on Sunday morning with discussions on the administrative aspects of GEOS.
