The 13th Annual GEOS Symposium was held from 21 to 23 September 1990 at Las Fuentes (Alcocéber, Castellón, Spain), a place already familiar to many members, having hosted a GEOS meeting in 1987.
As usual for these regular GEOS meetings, it provided an opportunity for amateur and professional astronomers from various European countries to meet, exchange views and review recent work.
The sessions were devoted to the presentation and informal discussion of recent results obtained within the GEOS programmes on variable stars.
Contributions dealt mainly with visual and photometric observations, data reduction and ongoing studies. Beyond the formal presentations, the meeting once again fulfilled its customary role as a working and friendly gathering, allowing fruitful discussions, comparisons of observing methods and coordination of future observing activities.
