2016 Strasbourg

GEOS Symposium, Strasbourg Observatory, 14–16 May 2016.

The symposium opened on 14 May with a welcome by H. Wozniak and E. Poretti, followed by presentations on the activities of the Strasbourg Observatory, the GEOS RR Lyrae database, and new insights into the Blazhko effect. The afternoon included a visit to la grande lunette and reports on remote observatories in Chile and South Moravia.

On 15 May, the sessions covered RR Lyrae stars, CCD surveys, data reduction, exoplanet photometry, and correlations in RRab stars. After lunch, contributions focused on unusual RR stars, Blazhko studies, lowamplitude variations, and the revision of the Priority Stars list.

On 16 May, the symposium concluded with the GEOS organizational session, addressing finances, instrumentation, collaborations, editorial matters, and future symposia, followed by a farewell coffee.
