The 2018 GEOS meeting took place on May 19–20 at the Parc Astronòmic Montsec in Àger, Catalonia. The event was organized by the RR Lyrae group of the Agrupació Astronòmica de Sabadell, whose efficient coordination was warmly acknowledged. The program included scientific presentations, two specialized workshops, and the annual GEOS general assembly.
Participants discussed topics such as TESS observations, methods for determining minima of eclipsing binaries, long‑term RR Lyrae monitoring, private observatory setups, photometry of exoplanet transits, CCD performance assessment, and spectroscopic observations of Mizar A.
The assembly also reviewed the association’s governance, finances, publication policies, and future meeting locations, including the proposal to host the next GEOS meeting in Valencia in 2019.
