The GEOS meeting held in Barcelona during the 5th European Variable Stars observers meeting (EVS5) brought together members to discuss governance, data projects, and the modernization of the group’s digital presence.

The meeting took place on May 28, 2023, at CosmoCaixa in Barcelona, following the EVS5 conference co-organized by GEOS and the Agrupació Astronòmica de Sabadell. Members unanimously renewed the Board of Directors and adopted the Administrative Bureau, ensuring continuity in leadership. Financial updates confirmed the stability of GEOS, with no membership fees planned for the near future.

Discussions focused on the integration of RR Lyrae data with GAIA, the development of a new database for Cepheid maxima, and strategies to enhance international visibility. A major decision was the proposed migration of the GEOS website to WordPress, aiming to make data sharing more accessible worldwide. The meeting concluded with a strong commitment to scientific collaboration and future publications on RR Lyrae and Cepheid stars.
